Bachelor of Science in Health Science

PSI’s Bachelor of Science in Health Science degree (BSHS) program is designed for students who already hold an Associate of Applied Science degree in a health care field. The roles and responsibilities of health care clinicians requires the commitment to ethical practice grounded in research and practiced in the context of a diverse society.

This Bachelor of Science degree program builds upon your current experience and provides a variety of career options after completion. Graduates of the BSHS program may transfer/enroll to a graduate-level health care career program that may include, but is not limited to, Doctor of Physical Therapy, Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, Athletic Trainer, and Prosthetist/Orthotist. Some additional courses may be required for various graduate programs.

Physical Therapy Assistant

Graduates of the Bachelor of Science in Health Science degree program will demonstrate:

  1. Foundational knowledge in the biological sciences and social sciences with application to clinical practice.
  2. Basic research and statistical knowledge to apply clinical reasoning and evidence-based practice to clinical practice.
  3. Advocacy for culturally-relevant health promotion, wellness, and health care for all members of society.
